Online Self-Assessment for the
Certified Human Resources Executive (CHRE) Designation

Welcome to the online self-assessment for the CHRE. As part of the online self-assessment you will be asked a series of questions related to your senior level HR experience. Please select the answer that most closely corresponds to your professional circumstances. Once you have completed the online self-assessment, the system will assign you an overall score based on the answers you provided.

A score of 80 or above is required to pass the online self-assessment. If you passed, you will be prompted to provide your contact information and submit your results to HRPA. Once your results have been processed by HRPA, you will receive an email with instructions regarding your next step from the Office of the Registrar.

If you do not achieve a score of 80 or above, you are not currently eligible for the CHRE. Please try again when your senior level HR experience aligns more closely with the requirements for the CHRE.

Please note that you are not permitted to complete the online self-assessment more than twice in a six-month timeframe.

Please answer all questions truthfully. Incorrect information may lead to you receiving a passing score even though you currently do not meet the requirements for the CHRE and will not be able to pass the next steps of the CHRE application process.

Years of HR Experience:

HR experience refers to the practice of Human Resources Management. This includes, but is not limited to the development and implementation of HR policies; the representation of clients and organizations in proceedings related to HR management; the supervision of other HR professionals and coaching of employees, managers, and other individuals in matters relating to work and employment.

Experience not considered to fall within the scope of HR management includes but is not limited to: general management experience, project management, academics, payroll and finance.
